Diving Belts are commonly pulled by coaches and allow athletes to practice flips or other diving skills in a safe environment achieving a greater amount of repetitions in a short time, one-on-one coaching, and the opportunity to make corrections, build confidence, and learn the muscle patterns for new or difficult skills more efficiently.
Hand spotting can be used when an athlete is learning new skills, developing air awareness, or working through fear or hesitation. It provides physical guidance, safety, and confidence during unfamiliar movements, especially on trampoline, dryboard, or belts. Spotting helps correct form mid-skill and reduces the risk of injury but should be phased out as the diver gains control and consistency.
